Uniting diverse artists 2016
A benefit for the midtown academy
Welcome to “Uniting Diverse Artists,” the second annual art exhibit and silent auction to support and celebrate The Midtown Academy, a K-8 public charter school located in the heart of Bolton Hill.
For nearly two decades, The Midtown Academy has provided Baltimore’s Midtown neighborhoods with an excellent elementary and middle school. Throughout this period, Midtown has consistently generated high-performance academic results with a straightforward, scalable model.
Serving, on average, 180 students per year in kindergarten through 8th grade in the heart of Baltimore’s Midtown and cultural arts district, Midtown pairs a rich academic program with a deep level of engagement in the community, a formula that for 17 years has placed its scholars among Baltimore City’s most successful.
The Midtown model is mission-driven. All decisions are grounded in the school’s commitment to uniting diverse communities, igniting an enduring passion for learning, and developing outstanding global citizens. This mission is demonstrated in significant ways through teaching and learning, and in the overall commitment of staff, teachers, students, parents, and the community that supports the school.
Jordan Faye Block, curator and gallery owner of Jordan Faye Contemporary, has graciously stepped forth to architect a spectacular exhibit in keeping with the spirit of Midtown’s mission of “uniting diverse communities.”
We hope you enjoy the auction, and thank you for your support.
