About Scott Ponemone

Born in 1949, Scott Ponemone, has been making work for over 40 years. Ponemone received his BA from Amherst College, 1971; and his MFA, from the Maryland Institute College of Art, 1979. His main medium is watercolor, although he has also worked in wood engraving and assemblage.

Ponemone has had 21 one-person exhibitions since 1980, in New York, Washington DC, Miami, Richmond & Annapolis. Included in the collec- tions of the Baltimore Museum of Art, City of Baltimore, Museum of the City of New York, Smithsonian Museum of American Art, the Johns Hopkins University & more. Scott has had fellowships and residencies in Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Vermont Studio Center, Chateau at Rochefort en Terre, France (MICA), Hungarian Multicultural Center, School 33 Art Center, and the Studios at Key West. Recently he was awarded a residency in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains at PECAH in 2016.
