Registration has begun for our Winter Salon! Stop in Thurs. thru Saturday
to register!!!
Future Salon Dates ::
The 2011 Salons will now be a 5 day exhibition, more details coming soon!!!
Salons will now be quarterly: one in winter, spring, summer, & fall.
Jordan Faye Contemporary is thrilled to present the 10th installation of The Salon Series in our multi-use exhibition space. The Salon is an OPEN CALL to ANY artist who works in ANY medium (i.e. painting, sculpture, photography, fiber, performance, conceptual, WHATEVER - so long as the work fits within the allotted space in the gallery.) It’s an opportunity for artists to present their work in a professional gallery with exposure to the fundamentals of selling, marketing, and curating one’s work.
There are NO LIMITATIONS on price, quantity, medium or size of the work as long as the work fits within the artist's allocated space. The gallery requires that the artist bring their own price list along with any other promotional material (such as business or postcards or labels.) We will however provide a template for labels & pricelist if requested that you may then fill and print out. We do have our recommendations for this however we realize that you may decide to create your own look and brand, which is perfectly fine with us.
Opportunities & things to take note of…!!!
Salon Participants get an hour & half consultation with Miss Block (who will look at your work and take the time to answer any questions you have, or give critical feedback if that’s what you’re looking for prior to The Salon). It’s the artist’s responsibility to schedule this consultation. If you’d like opinions on curating, framing or pricing, we’re happy to discuss these with you.
The Salon Series weekend is a learning experience, from meeting new people and exchanging ideas to interactions with new clients and potential sales. All things are possible so we recommend having an open mind, being as prepared as possible and taking the weekend in fully. We look forward to getting to know you and your work and are excited to work together with you during Salon No. 12.

...........................................................................................................
Installation
Each participant will be allocated a measured amount of space by the gallery. (approximately 7 feet wide x 8 feet high or 14 linear ft x 8 ft high). Artists are not allowed to display any work beyond their designated space. However the director may also give additional space to an artist when it is appropriate for the work being displayed.
Artists must bring their own tools and some recommended hardware (i.e hammers, nails, hooks, wire, stands, frames, levels, etc). We have some of these tools in the gallery, however we may not have enough for everyone to be using all at once. Depending on what walls that you receive you will be advised the proper hardware to use. We have various types of walls from plaster to drywall. Screws / anchors may be acceptable with certain areas, and nails or hanging hooks appropriate in others. All hanging hardware must be approved (by the gallery) before hanging begins. We will teach you the appropriate hardware to use in every circumstance.
