ABOUT renting our space

In September 2009, Jordan Faye Contemporary moved into it’s permanent home in Federal Hill at 1401 Light Street Baltimore, MD. This historic building was once one of the four original Enoch Pratt Library neighborhood branches (1886-1971). We have expanded our vision for the gallery inspired by our building’s victorian architecture and amazing light. We hope our new arts and events venue will be a place where art, ideas, and community work in concert and we look forward to sharing it with you!

[ CAPACITY ] For cocktail scenarios, BE @ Jordan Faye Contemporary can hold up to 150 guests in the space. We can also accommodate 60 - 80 guests for a seated or buffet dinner, depending on the table configuration. The great room holds up to 60 guests with a dance floor. There is no minimum guest number required to book the space.

[ TIMING ] The rental rate guarantees you 8 hours. These 8 hours should cover your setup time (3hrs), the event itself (4hrs) and breakdown/clean-up (1hr). If there is a ceremony during your event, please call us for specific details.

Jordan Faye Contemporary's guest curfew is 12:30 A.M. Caterers and/or any other vendor are permitted to breakdown and remove their equipment until 1:30 A.M. If you wish to extend the guest curfew past 12:30 A.M., an overtime rate of $800/hr will be incurred.

[ STAFF ] The rental rate includes the presence of 1 BE staff members for the duration of every event. They will be stationed at the main entrance to greet your guests and assist with any questions, and also be monitoring the event in BE to ensure everything is operating smoothly and comfortably.

[ MEETINGS ] Rates for use of the great room for meetings

Tuesday-Friday

Daytime, ending by 5 PM: $120/hour

minimum of 3hrs

[ KITCHEN ] We at BE & Jordan Faye Contemporary have a residential kitchen featuring a gas oven, residential fridge, dishwasher, and additional space for prep tables to be set up. (kitchen area is 8.5’ x 25’, located off great room)

[ AVAILABLE FOR USE ] 2 large farm-style dining tables (32" x 96"), 2 - 36” x 60” tables, 1-32” x 48" table, 1 - 10’ court room bench, several shaker-style side tables and 20 wooden chairs. Also we have two higher tables perfect for bar set-up.

[ RENTALS ] Catering, extra tables, extra chairs, linens, dishware, and glassware are not included in the rental of BE. Please also note that tent rental is NOT included. Typically, a caterer will organize the rental of dinner tables, chairs, etc. for your event.

[ PARKING & TRANSPORTATION ] BE offers some free street parking evenings and weekends. We can also help you to coordinate a valet for your guests at an additional fee. If you’d like to pay for parking for your guests, we’re happy to connect you to our preferred valet service.

Contact information for car services are available for your guests. BE is easily accessible from I-95 and 83. We are also 3 blocks south of the Federal Hill Business District.

BE @ Jordan Faye Contemporary is conveniently located on the corner of Light St & Gittings St.

Cross Street Market is 3 blocks north of BE,

1 block south of the actual South Branch of the Enoch Pratt Library

1 block north of School 33 Center for the Arts.

For those driving, there is free street parking (some metered closer to the market). Parking is also available in a paid garage within a few blocks of our building located at 40 E West Street, just two blocks north of the gallery, & half a block west. map to west street garage
